Michelle Atkins brings a wealth of experience and a truly client-first approach to the Hardmans team. After completing a bilingual secretarial course, Michelle embarked on a diverse secretarial career that took her across the country, including roles in local government and the medical profession, where she even gained experience at Pfizer. She returned to the South East in 1993.
In 1996, Michelle transitioned into the legal field, discovering a passion for conveyancing. Her knack for connecting with clients quickly led to her becoming a conveyancing assistant. She further developed her legal expertise as a legal secretary before successfully joining the local Council as a Legal Executive. In 2010, Michelle qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, demonstrating her commitment to professional excellence. Her time at the Council provided invaluable experience in local government, planning law, and both residential and commercial conveyancing within the public sector.
Since 2018, Michelle has specialised in residential conveyancing within private practice, working with various firms and gaining expertise in areas like shared ownership and other residential leasehold transactions.
Michelle genuinely enjoys the challenges of residential conveyancing and the direct contact with clients and other organisations. Her strong administrative skills ensure a consistent process from start to finish. She’s dedicated to helping clients achieve their dream of homeownership, always listening and clearly explaining complex processes and potential issues, even when delivering difficult news. Michelle firmly believes that communication is key, especially for first-time buyers and those who haven’t bought or sold property in a while, ensuring they are always informed.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys delving into history, visiting historical sites, and reading about important historical figures. She also has a creative side, enjoying crafting and cooking.
