About Catherine

My aim is to make legal advice simple, straight-forward and easy for my clients to understand.  The law can be complicated, especially for people who may be in a vulnerable position, or at a difficult time in their life emotionally, so I believe you need to be able to trust that your solicitor will listen to you, look after your best interests and explain everything clearly every step of the way.  The law may be complicated, even to us as lawyers sometimes, but the art in our profession is to ensure we apply it to your personal circumstances in a clear and transparent manner making you, the client, feel confident you are in the right hands.

I grew up in Rochester before then going to London to do my LLB Law Degree with Honours.  After graduation I went to the College of Law in York to finish my law studies before starting as a trainee solicitor with Hardmans in 1996.  I qualified in 1998 and became a partner in the Firm in 2002.  I very much enjoy being part of such a vibrant community and love living and working in Deal – providing quality legal services to the local people in our community – that was my aim when I qualified and it remains my aim to this day.

I specialise in elderly client law, probate and estate administration, Wills and Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work.  I also undertake residential and commercial conveyancing and property law work, as well as advising on Landlord and Tenant matters.  I also am the Managing Partner in the Practice and enjoy working as part of the friendly team at Hardmans.  One of my passions is organising our “Charity of the Year” each year which enables Hardmans to support, through various activities and fund-raising, local and well-known charities, many of which have a link to the type of work we undertake for our clients.  We believe it is important to help provide a wider network of support that so many of us often need at one point or another in our lives.  Hardmans is proud of its charity work and I am proud to be a part of it.

Outside of work my passions are walking my dogs, cycling and going to the theatre.  My biggest passion however is skiing and being in the mountains whenever I can!
